We were adopted in love!

SO EXCITING!!!

This morning we had a wonderful service at Spring Creek! It was entitled 'Adoption in Love' based on Romans 8:15 & Romans 8:29, also Epehesians 1:5. We thought coincidence? NOPE...coincidence doesn't exist!

So, it wasn't about us adopting, it was about Jesus adopting us! Like my Mom Sullivan used to say, "we are adopted Jews"!

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Romans 8:15

(Abba is like calling Him Daddy, do you feel close enough to Him to call our Heavenly Father Abba, Daddy)?

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Romans 8:29

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. Ephesians 1:5

We are SO HAPPY to be adopted by Christ! Prayerfully, a baby, as well as other children will feel blessed to have us adopt/foster them!!!

JUST KEEP PRAYING!

Friday, October 29, 2010

Hopefully soon, it won't be "Just the Two of Us" any longer...

This is a picture of us praying during the renewal of our wedding vows on our tenth anniversary. I specifically remember praying in that prayer for us to be blessed with a child, just as we have prayed SO MANY times before! We've been waiting for eleven years now, isn't that long enough? LOL! Thankfully it has taught us one of life's most important lessons...things happen in God's time, not ours! Also, God's WAY, not necessarily OUR way!

Recently, within the past year or so, we learned of a christian organization called The C.A.L.L. in Arkansas http://www.thecallinarkansas.org/

The C.A.L.L. (Children of Arkansas Loved for a Lifetime) helps Christians that want to foster/foster to adopt get through the TON OF PAPERWORK, while forming support groups during class with other christians along the way! We attended class this past weekend chock full of all kinds of information, mostly very sad things that children have been through, also, all kinds of ways children end up in the foster system through no fault of their own...sometimes getting moved from foster home to foster home many times, which is a loss for the child each time they get moved.

This will probably be a long journey, only God knows though, could be a month, could be a year! So far, in speaking with the DHS lady, Gale, things are moving quicker than we anticipated...the first home walk through, (which is one of the things we're worried about, just because the house is so old) should be within the next two weeks!!!

We are already praying for a healthy baby to pick up from the hospital, (not being picky or anything, LOL)!

If you know us at all, you know the "boy" room, (bunkbeds/comic/cammo/boy stuff) is already ready for a young un and Katie will be working on the "girl/baby" room (crib/twin bed/wicker furniture/soft colors) tomorrow!

WE ARE READY!!!

Even after we get to adopt a baby though, I am sure we will continue with foster care. No matter how long these children are in our home, we will be able to impact their lives, for the better, at least a little bit!

Please remember us in prayer! Please remember all of theses children, also their biological parents in prayer! You never know what folks are really going through...

With Much Love,

Joshua & Katie

THIS IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY!!!

James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
