So, this morning on my way to work I heard the song "Grandpa" on the radio (the one by the Judds,...old song). I started boo hooing, wrecked my make up.
Just wanted to post on here, especially with Father's Day coming up how much BOTH of my Grandfather's meant to me and how greatly I miss them.
The song is about a grand daughter asking her Grandpa to tell her about the good 'ol days, etc. I just wish I would've realized before it was too late that I should've asked more questions, and spent more time with both of them.
I did spend a lot of time in the hospital with my Papaw Collins the days before he died, and I recorded him on my phone asking questions, and he would answer, but his answers that day just weren't the same as I would've gotten a year before... He was confused and didn't really know what to say, or how to answer some of the questions.
If you are fortunate enough to still have your grandparents around PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE... DO NOT take them for granted. MAKE extra time to spend with them. They will love & enjoy your visits and you will be glad you did take the extra time to go for a visit after they're gone.
JUST SAYIN.......

Papaw Collins & me just a few months before he passed away...
Girl you brought tears to my eyes. What a very honest and sweet post. Very good. Keep posting girl!
